Giving Back

We Believe

That we are blessed to be living today in such a rich, diverse, and democratic society, that we can share our good fortune and resources with the most disadvantaged on the planet, including Third World Children and their mothers, that we can be motivate both by business self-interest and private voluntary civic action, and that we focus on areas related to our business (marketing communications) and seek to leverage our knowledge, time, and contributions.

In doing so, we are inspired by Gandhi …

“You must be the change you want to see in the world.”

We Acknowledge

That globalization and marketing communications have sometimes created unintended distress and consequences on the planet, that dollars and creative talent focused wisely can meet social needs, and that private voluntary civic action can be measured and be held accountable. MorganAnderson is “giving back” through identifying, vetting, and supporting social entrepreneurs and venture philanthropists in areas related to our business. Here is how we contribute principles-into-action: we give back 20% of our net profits to non-profits like the following:

ameliorating the plight of the most at-risk children on the planet

logo_dharmikMorganAnderson supports Dharmik, an Australian not-for-profit membership organization, which was founded by Mark and Mary-Louise McIntyre to fund and manage grassroots projects in Nepal. Their objective is “small projects with large results” in accordance with published guidelines and transparency. MorganAnderson supports a children’s home in Katmandu where children (many of them orphans from the streets and many with medical problems) live, are taken care of and educated. Incredibly, it only costs US 87 cents per child per day to do this. Western volunteers donate 100% of their time and expenses. Click for photos and further information at www.dharmik.org.

supporting a community media industry among the most disenfranchised in an underdeveloped country

logo_videovolMorganAnderson supports Video Volunteers, a US not-for-profit founded several years ago by Jessica Mayberry, a recent college graduate. Its mission is to give a media voice to the most disenfranchised in undeveloped countries using the technology of digital video media and plain hard work. VV is flourishing in India where it trains video teams in local slums and villages to produce and show programs on important local issues, give a voice, motivate involvement, and accelerate information and change. In a very short period of time, VV has become one of the largest media production companies in India. Its members are mostly untouchables, women, and children, many who cannot read or write. supporting a positive role for marketing/communications on global social issues

logo_actMorganAnderson supports ACT Responsible — Advertising Community Together, a Paris-based non-profit initiative whose aim is to create a positive role for marketing communications on global social issues. We all know advertising often has an unpleasant reputation and, in the view of some, bears responsibility for certain social ills. We also know that there are many fine, innovative people in the business. Founded in 2001, ACT’s goal is to federate, promote and inspire good practices from advertisers and agencies in favor of social responsibility and sustainable development.
